When the Father sends his Word, he always sends his Breath. To be sure, it is Christ who is seen, the visible image of the invisible God, but it is the Spirit who reveals him. The church is the place where we know the Holy Spirit,
in the Scriptures he inspired;
in the Tradition, to which the Church Fathers are always timely witnesses;
in prayer, wherein he intercedes for us;
in the witness of saints through whom he manifests his holiness and continues the work of salvation.
The Holy Spirit is at work in hearts of men from beginning of time and we see many examples in the Bible – from King David to Prophet Elijah, John the Baptist and Jesus. Jesus promised to all of us the coming of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will come and we shall know him; he will be with us forever; he will remain with us. By virtue of our Baptism, the first sacrament of the faith, the Holy Spirit comes into our lives. The Spirit will teach us everything, remind us of all that Christ said to us and bear witness to him. The Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth and will glorify Christ. He will prove the world wrong about sin, righteousness, and judgment. By this power of the Spirit, God’s children can bear much fruit. Fruits of the Holy Spirit - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control is the topic that will be taken in coming months to teach children how they can recognize the fruits of the Holy Spirit in them.
